How to Enter South Korea for a girl: K-ETA, C-3 and G-1 visas — Application, Cost, and Possible Reasons for Refusal

Entry to South Korea is possible through one of two options:
✔️ K-ETA — this is an electronic travel authorization for entry into South Korea, available to citizens of countries on the visa-free list.
It is issued online through the official website and allows entry into the country without a visa for short-term stays.
Processing time — from 1 to 3 business days.
K-ETA is valid for up to 3 years and allows staying in the country for up to 90 days per entry.
You can independently check the possibility of obtaining a K-ETA on the official website k-eta.go.kr
If the system allows you to submit a K-ETA application, it means entry is possible via electronic authorization.

If K-ETA is unavailable, you must apply for a short-term category C-3 visa.
✔️ Short-Term Visit Visa (C-3) — applied for independently or with the help of a visa agency through the Consulate of South Korea for citizens of countries where K-ETA is not available.
A C-3 visa is generally valid for about 3 months and provides for a stay of 30 to 90 days, depending on the conditions specified in the visa.
For citizens of Ukraine, a short-term category C-3 tourist visa is available for entry into South Korea.
If necessary, we can provide contacts for an agent who will assist with the visa application.
The processing cost is usually around $100-$150. Payment is made in two stages: 50% at the start of the process and 50% after the documents are ready.
The price includes a full package of documents: filling out the application form, bank and employment statements, hotel and flight bookings, and a travel itinerary.
The candidate only needs a foreign passport, a document photo, knowledge of the provided information, and personal submission of documents at the embassy in Kyiv.
Visa processing time — from 5 to 21 days.
The visa is issued for a period of 30 days.
You can also apply for a visa independently through the consulate or use the services of any specialized agency.
In case of difficulties, you can always contact our agency manager, and we will suggest the optimal entry option for you.
Main difference: K-ETA and the C-3 visa are intended for the same purpose — short-term stay.
The difference lies solely in the application method:
K-ETA is issued online, while the C-3 visa is obtained through the South Korean Consulate.
Factors that may result in a refusal of entry to South Korea regardless of the visa type (K-ETA, C-3, or other visa categories):
- Previous deportation from South Korea.
- Previous deportation from any other country (there is a corresponding stamp in the passport).
- Presence of arrests or serious legal violations.
- A previous refusal of a K-ETA application.
- A previously opened Korean category G-1 visa.
- A previous refusal at passport control in South Korea.
If a long-term stay in South Korea is planned, a G-1 visa can be issued after arrival for those planning an extended stay.
G-1 Visa (Humanitarian Stay Visa) — this is a temporary humanitarian visa that allows legal residence in South Korea after the end of a tourist stay if there are valid reasons, and it is issued only within South Korea through the Immigration Service.
The possibility of obtaining a G-1 visa is always considered individually and depends solely on the decision of the South Korean immigration authorities.
Reasons for obtaining a G-1 visa may include:
- humanitarian circumstances;
- participation in legal proceedings;
- inability to leave the country for valid reasons;
- medical indications;
- starting studies at a language school, college, institute, or other educational institution within South Korea;
- Other grounds recognized as justified by the immigration authorities.
To apply for a G-1 visa, it is necessary to:
- personally apply to the South Korean Immigration Service;
- provide a valid foreign passport;
- fill out a standard application form;
- provide documents confirming the grounds for stay (invitation or confirmation of enrollment in an educational institution, medical certificates, court documents, etc.);
- pay the state fee.
